Sebastián Piñera (1949 – 2024)

The International Democracy Union is deeply saddened to learn of the tragic passing of our Honorary Advisory Board Member, former Chilean President Sebastián Piñera.

President Piñera will be remembered as an internationally respected statesman who dedicated his time in government to improving the lives of the Chilean people.

The IDU is honoured to have counted the President as a cherished member of our global centre-right family. Our sincere condolences go to his family in these difficult times.
