Prime Minister Theresa May named patron of the IWDU

The International Democrat Union is delighted to announce that the patronage of the International Women’s Democrat Union has been accepted by the Rt. Hon. Theresa May MP, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Re-established in Madrid earlier this year, the IWDU seeks to support women in politics and give them the training that they need to succeed to higher office. As the second female Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Prime Minister May’s support will serve as an example to other women seeking to pursue their own careers in politics while also highlighting the importance of our shared goal. We are excited to continue building the IWDU and look forward to working alongside Prime Minister May in the months and years ahead.
