We are pleased to announce that the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, The Rt Hon. Boris Johnson, has joined the IDU Honorary Advisory Board.
Throughout his decades-long political career, Prime Minister Johnson served as leader of the Conservative Party during his premiership (2019-2022), Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs (2016-2018), and Mayor of London (2008-2016). Under his leadership, the Conservative Party achieved its biggest majority in the House of Commons since 1987 and the highest share of the vote of any party since 1979.
Prime Minister Johnson emerged as the preeminent global leader in the effort to defend Ukraine from Russia’s unprovoked and illegal invasion. Under his leadership, the UK committed more than £2.4 billion in military assistance and tremendous humanitarian support to Ukraine, making the Kremlin consider him its enemy number one.
In addition to his work in politics, Mr Johnson is an award-winning journalist, writer, and editor. He is the author of almost a dozen books, from the globally bestselling historical biography of Winston Churchill, The Churchill Factor, to the self-illustrated children’s book The Perils Of Pushy Parents. He edited The Spectator magazine for six years and has written for dozens of major publications including London’s Daily Telegraph. He currently writes a weekly column for the Daily Mail.
The IDU is honoured to have such a distinguished and experienced statesman on our team as we work towards building an ever-stronger global alliance of the centre-right. Thank you, Prime Minister Johnson!
