The IDU fully supports female political leaders and their work

The IDU fully supports female political leaders and their work in IDU member parties and beyond. Within IDU and in our women’s branch, the IWDU, we advocate for a strong involvement of women in politics at all levels. Today, female leaders play a significant role in ensuring that our parties are in tune with policies of special concern to women and in ensuring that we address female voters appropriately, helping to increase their share of our parties’ votes. Women play a unique role in our societies contributing to our well-being, both as home makers and working women. We believe that IWDU may contribute to a fruitful exchange on shared issues for women in politics, connect female leaders worldwide and encourage women to take political office.
