Earlier this year the International Democrat Union, IDU was pleased to announce the re-establishment of the International Women’s Democrat Union, IWDU under the patronage of the Rt. Hon. Theresa May Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. The IWDU seeks to support and empower women in politics and government by offering opportunities for networking, training and mentorship.
The board will be chaired by Laura de Esteban. Ms. de Esteban is a former Member of the European Parliament who was first elected in 1994 and served as Vice President of the European People’s Party.
The Executive Board will include the following members:
– Hon. Rona Ambrose, former Minister and Leader of the Opposition, Conservative Party of Canada
– Marta Evelyn Batres, Member of Parliament, ARENA, El Salvador
– Helen Kroger, President of Federal Women’s Committee, Liberal Party of Australia
– Minister Katalin Novàk, Minister and Party Vice-President, Fidesz, Hungary
– Helen Whately, Member of Parliament, Conservative Party, United Kingdom
– Narantuya Zagdkhuu, Member of Parliament, Mongolian Democrat Party, Mongolia

The IDU is the global alliance of the centre-right. With a membership of more than 80 parties, the IDU brings conservatives together from around the world to build relationships and share best practices for winning elections and governing successfully.
